The Shannon Farm Community Garden lies directly in the path of the pipeline. If it is built along the proposed route, it will destroy all the hard work the community members have put into the garden. The members work together to maintain the garden, which provides them with fresh produce. There are about 15 people working in the garden, and the results of their efforts feed twice as many families. The produce is grown for the members of the community, not for profit, but the excess is sometimes donated to a local food bank. At this time of year, the garden is pretty bare. However, there were still a few ripe tomatoes that we got to pick and enjoy.
